I started my career as a garden designer in 1996 and did my work placement training with Stephen Woodhams in London. My first show garden was in 1998 at the Stonleigh County show. Further along in my career, I designed many gardens in and around Bath and the Southwest for over 10 years. Until in 2000’s, I relocated to Kent.
I have been incredibly lucky to work on a vast variety of prestigious projects, ranging from small town gardens all the way through to large country properties with acreage. I also work with architects, property developers & interior designers.
I have a Degree in Garden Landscape Design (from Greenwich/Hadlow University), a HNC in Horticulture, AutoCAD and many other related qualifications. I worked alongside Frosts Landscapes Ltd and designed all the gardens for a whole series of ITVs Love Your Garden.
With over 20 years as a designer, I took up the challenge of designing for Chelsea which is the pinnacle of a designer’s career.
The many years of experience I have means that I have an eye for hidden potential in the site and an understanding of how everything interconnects: the clients to their home, the house to the garden, the land to the neighbourhood, the area to the soil type, climate and topography.
I believe it is important to be able to view a garden from a designer’s perspective. It is imperative to understand the relationship between hard and soft landscape, there are many ingredients combined to meet the level of success and consider all aspects from beginning to end.
